Yongan Pharmaceutical (永安药业) [002365.SZ]: Largest worlwide manufacturer of taurine (牛磺酸) and play on energy drink with launch of a taurine effervescent product under its brand (易加能).

As of 2024, 80% of the company's taurine products are exported to all parts of the world, and it is an important supplier to world-class companies such as Nestlé and Coca-Cola. Company's taurine production capacity is 58,000 tons/year, with global market share at 50% (production mainly in China).

As of 2025, the Yi Jia Neng ("Easy Energy") sold on e-commerce platforms is mainly in granular form, with each stick being 4g, and a 12-stick box selling for around RMB 45 (=> 900 CNY/kg).

The brand claims that the taurine content of one stick is equivalent to 4.8 bottles of H牛 (Bull) or 4.2 bottles of L虎 (Tiger) => 1 ton ~ 1.2 million bottles of H牛
To put in context: 12.7 billion Red Bull cans were sold in 2024 worldwide.
If 1 % of its production was sold under its brands（ie 580 tons or ~700 million bottles equivalent, it seems to be a bull case scenario for next 2-3 years) with a 70% net sales / GMV ratio
=> sales and gross profit could increase by ~ 0.35bn/year => a CNY 7bn market cap target in blue-sky scenario.

In 2022, taurine effervescent tablets were also involved in the "female drug" incident.
